The Mayor and City Council has authorized the City to provide up to 50 small businesses located in the city limits with $5,000 in business assistance awards using funds the City received as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, known as ARPA. This program is limited to small businesses, only with a maximum of 25 full-time employees.

Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development
The Kentucky Small Business Tax Credit Program (KSBTC)
The Kentucky Small Business Tax Credit program offers between $3,500 and $25,000 per year for small businesses that have hired and sustained at least one new job in the last year and/or purchased at least $5,000 in qualifying equipment or technology. The new employee must have been on the payroll for at least one year and earn at least $10.88/hour.

This grant helps Colorado-based advanced industries technology businesses who want to export or are currently exporting. This grant is for small- and medium-sized businesses for up to $15,000.

Small Business Façade, Site Improvement and Adaptive Reuse Program
The Small Business Façade, Site Improvement and Adaptive Reuse Program (FSARP) is designed to revitalize business corridors and abandoned buildings within the city limits through funding for building façade, site improvements, and/or building reuse improvements. The FSARP is designed as a forgivable loan program. Awards made to properties will encourage reuse of vacant or underutilized properties, improve appearance, and support the long-term viability of the city.
